A bit clumsy at first, glorious colours
She dabs here and there with her brush.
Confident now she takes up great globs of paint
Here and here and here.
Now we have this mess she says
Why don't we add some red
And how about some white and orange too
Here, here and here.
Let's take some more she smiles
With her great bristle brush she
Spreads the reds, the oranges, the white, blue
Here, here and here.
And clouds appeared, the ocean roared
The rocks stuck out.
Bits of light warm orange show through
Here, here and here
In the blue there is white clinging, radiating
Seagulls floating on the breeze
And you can feel it. You can hear it.
The ocean in your soul.
Well how about that she said
We're done, a smile lighting her face as
She put her big and small brush down
And stood back to enjoy the sea
